We are excited to create a new website and blog for the Morrell Nature Sanctuary.
We're hoping this blog will stimulate others to write about their impressions of the park, and perhaps some suggestions for making this wonderful sanctuary even better. Thank you for visiting us!

Would love to have a little more info on the trail map, like how long are the trails? How long is the walk? What is the terrain like?. I plan on coming for a visit as this is one of the last parks I haven't visited yet. Was just there for the plant sale and it did look like it would be a beautiful hike.

Hi Trish,
There are trails which vary in difficulty from wheelchair accessible to steep such as the one to the Rocky Knoll. The two widest ones leave the parking lot area and head left to the BC hydro line, or right to Morrell Lake. Along the way to Morrell Lake you will see signs leading to different paths and destinations. Part of the fun is exploring each one and enjoying as much as you're comfortable with doing. I'm not sure if you've seen the trail map on the Morrell website at http://www.morrellnaturesanctuary.ca/trail-map.html . You can also use Google map to show you a relief map of the area but it doesn't show elevations.

I hope this helps. Whatever trails you choose, you're going to enjoy the sanctuary!
